Vineyard: The grapes for this Spätburgunder Grand Cru were grown in a south-facing vineyard in Weissenburg. The vineyard is situated on a large limestone rock with a clayey loamy top soil.
Vinification: The grapes were carefully hand selected, de-stemmed and separately fermented on the skins. After two to three weeks of fermentation in open oak vats, the grapes were gently presses. Maturation took place in small oak barrels over 18 months. The wine was bottled without filtration.
Wine: A deep ruby red Spätburgunder. On the nose, it has aromas of wild berries, tobacco, bitumen and black tea. On the palate, this red wine is dense, powerful and juicy, with very good length, elegant freshness and excellent structure. It has great ageing potential.
